IKEBANAS

Our ikebanas are individually hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel by Norman Aufrichtig. Each ikebana is made from a porcelainous clay and is high-fired. There are several beautiful glazes that Norman’s developed from which you can choose your ikebana. There will be some variation in size and glaze but each ikebana is a gem. We affix stainless steel frogs in our ikebanas to hold your flowers. Norman Aufrichtig holds both a B.F.A. from Cooper Union in New York and a M.F.A. from Ohio University in sculpture and ceramics and has been a ceramic artist for over 35 years. Norman and his wife Danna maintain their home and studio on the high-desert sagebrush mesa overlooking Taos Mountain in northern New Mexico. Our mini ikebanas are approximately 2-1/2" diameter and are $18.00. Our open style ikebanas starts at approximately 5-1/2"diameter and are $38.00 As size goes up so does size of frog and price.
